Restoring Tradition with a Craftsman Oak Portico
Many years ago there existed a portico on this beautiful and historic Lakeland home, evident in the embedded lead running across the left wing of the building above the front door. Sadly, after extensive research into this historically important home we could not locate any original photographs. Considering the buildings setting, deeply immersed within the Lake district we decided to stick to our ethos of specifying natural sustainable materials selecting locally felled Oak to create this beautiful addition, further enhancing this stunning house. The portico was made locally in the traditional way adhering to our principles of supporting and championing local craftsmen.
Creating Al-fresco Elegance with a Luxury Fire Pit
Aligned with our ethos of promoting outdoor living and local heritage, we designed an enchanting fire pit area, inspired by the Lake District’s iconic stone walls. Our clients love to eat and entertain al-fresco, our solution was to design and build this fabulous fire pit and seating around it, evoking the top of the miles of historical stone walls that are a defining feature within the Lake district. A large, raised patio with a protective stone wall running around for shelter from the breeze, also providing a sense of enclosure, serves as the perfect backdrop for the outside dining table. Our clients love to use this space all year piling on warm coats and hats in the winter warmed by the fire…..gluhwein anyone?
Innovative Home Office in a Shepherd’s Hut
Addressing the need for a secluded work-from-home environment, we introduced a Shepherd’s Hut into the landscape, a nod to the region’s agricultural heritage and our ethos of blending functionality with nature. Insulated with natural sheep’s wool and equipped with essential amenities, this hut represents our commitment to luxury interior design, craftsmanship, and sustainable living. Its versatile design ensures it can evolve with the family’s needs, serving as a testament to our innovative approach to home renovation and design
